Recent radio History:
The program “Discovering the XXI Century” began on September 7th, 2001 at WNNY 1380 AM, a New York City radio station. Initially the program aired only once a week for two hours. On the second week of December 2001, the program had been so successful, that local Hispanic listeners had helped us increase the show’s broadcast to 10 hours per week (Monday-Friday 9pm-11pm), plus one hour on Sunday’s transmitting the Mass live from 10am-11am. The program ended on November 25th, 2002 after 14 months on the air.

The show was an open discussion: questions and answers
between the host and listeners on the following topics: Literary traditions
and historical/religious, information about the Ancient Mediterranean and
Middle East; Religious phenomena in global human history; Religious news in
the Hispanic world; Faith and culture; Reflections and history regarding
Judaism, Christian, Muslim, Buddhism, and Islamic religious traditions..
After a few months of recess, our program “Discovering the XXIst Century” started again on March 7th, 2003 until September on WSNR 620 AM every Friday from 8pm-11pm. In September 5th. 2003, from WSNR 620AM we moved to WPAT 930AM and continued till December 2003.
Here, Discovering the XXIst Century had three segments: First hour, contemporary sociopolitical and catholic realities. Second hour, we focused in religious themes and news from the Spanish speaking world emphasizing Catholic Doctrine. The last segment was dedicated to reflections on the Sunday Liturgical texts. Our phones were always open for questions from our listeners at all times.
B. Activities related to the radio program for prisoners.
We have found out about prisoners from different penitentiaries and jails from Queens, Brooklyn and Elizabethtown New Jersey had responded to our program with great interest. This is based on large number of written letters received from them as well as telephone calls from their families. After intensive activities oriented toward inmates, many copies of the Bible and the Koran were distributed to inmates in the New York and New Jersey.
C. & D Blessed Carlos Manuel Rodríguez Institute. This institute has as its main objective to train people to become leaders in their own communities. The workshops were already given for this purpose on the following dates:

E. Pilgrimages and Cultural Travels.
Discovering the XXI Century, in addition, organizes pilgrimages within the United States and overseas, such as Europe, China and the Far East, for religious and educational purposes. The following trips have been realized.

In addition to the Pilgrimages, Discovering XXI Century promotes and distributes religious books, specially Bibles, according to the teaching of Catholic Church
