Father Bernie Lutz (picture taken from an old book of Patrick J. Gleason)
The first Holy Cross, school and church was built in 1947. The religion of the church is Roman Catholic. It was made with a wooden frame that held it up for 10 years. The wood frame might have held up a little longer, but the town decided Holy Cross was getting too crowded. They built a new and larger church and school together, which is located on Lincoln and North Strain Street. The pastor was Howard Murphy. Its current pastor is named is Father Bernie Lutz. Holy Cross used to have eight nuns and today they have one. Her name is Sister Laura Marie.
In 1957 Holy Cross was rebuilt and covered with sandstone. Holy Cross has over 450 people that attend today. The principal of the school is Sara Ziliak. The Church services are called Mass but they only last an hour. Now you know quite a bit about Holy Cross the school and the church.
